Arlene's Wedding Day

As my second wedding anniversary fast approaches it has made me think about all things weddings! So I thought I would share just a little info on some of the suppliers we chose for our big day. Any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

I married my best friend, Michael on 30 June 2016 in Rathsallagh House, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow. It was the most amazing & magical day. I started off the morning with a cup of tea with Mammy and my two Bridesmaids – my sister Laura & my cousin, Julia. It was the most surreal feeling knowing that this was actually my wedding day! Then my make – up artist, Derrick Carberry arrived – he is just an unbelievable artist and created the exact look that I had envisioned for my wedding day. I love lots of make-up and nice smokey eyes so I decided to stay true to my usual look & went  more dramatic than the traditional bridal make – up. I am fussy about my make – up & I honestly loved my wedding look. I could not recommend Derrick highly enough – anyone looking for a fabulous make – up artist for any event or for their big day you guys should check Derrick out – find him on Instagram www.instagram.com/derrick_carberry/

My Hair Stylist arrived early that morning too – the beautiful Kathleen Riordan who I have decided to call Kat. She is an incredible Stylist and created a stunning elegant up style. I wanted a romantic, traditional bridal, elegant and timeless up style. Kat gave me just this – to be honest it was even better than I had imagined – it went beautifully with my vintage style veil.  This look really completed my overall bridal look and I still cannot stop thanking Kat for her work. She is just a fabulous girl, an unbelievable hair stylist and a great friend. Please check her out on Instagram – www.instagram.com/Kathleenrhair/

My wedding photography was captured by the amazing Magda Lukas – Magda is a Cork based Photographer but does work in the Leinster area and all around Ireland – guys you should definitely check out her website – www.Magdalukas.com.
Magda is a true genius and an expert in her craft. She has a beautiful eye for photography and genuinely adores to capture a true love story – my husband & I absolutely love our pictures. I love that Magda captured so many special memories for us to treasure forever.

Our wedding video was captured by Cinematographer Cathal Farrelly. The moment I viewed other wedding videos that Cathal had filmed I had to have him for our wedding. When Cathal advised he was available on our wedding date I was so excited. He is the most talented in this industry. I will ty to share some of the footage with you soon. Cathal has also created some stills of the wedding which you can see on my Facebook page – Arlene Costello or on my instagram – www.instagram.com/Arlskelly
I can’t recommend Cathal highly enough either he is such a talent – take a look for your wedding on his website www.cathalfarrelly.com.

When all the bridal party were dressed & ready to go we went to the church – nerves were really kicking in then! I felt such an incredible rush of emotion as soon as I heard ‘A Thousand Years’ being sang by the beautiful Soprano singer Sinead O’ Brien from Limerick. This was the song I chose for my Bridesmaids entrance song. I then heard the organ playing the traditional ‘Here Comes the Bride’ for my entrance. My brother Justin was giving me away and an incredible sense of calm & happiness came over me. It was an amazing moment – one of the stand out moments of the day for me!
During the ceremony my singers Sinead O’ Brien & Derek Maloney sang an array of beautiful songs. For me the performance of the ceremony had to be ‘The Prayer’ – a duet sang so so beautifully by both Sinead & Derek. It almost lifted the roof of our church – you have to hear it – see this on u tube search – Sinead O’ Brien and Derek Maloney ‘The Prayer’.
The singing in the church is so important to the ceremony and really worked so beautifully to capture our marriage and our story.
I can’t thank our singers enough, they are both so incredibly talented – our guests were so amazed. I am glad I took the time to choose them carefully. I have snap chat Sinead a few times to compliment her unique talent and to pass my thank you’ s to Derek. I booked Sinead having found her contact details on www.sineadobrien.com and later booked Derek through Sinead as they have sang together in the past. Girls if you want to give that final setting to a very special moment in your life you have to have these guys sing at your wedding. There is simply no better serenade to saying ‘I do’ x.

We were married and I was then officially Mrs. Arlene Costello. It all went so perfectly.
We then drove to our chosen venue to celebrate with 122 of our closet family & friends. Our venue was the beautiful Rathsallagh House in Dunlavin. Again I was fussy about the venue – wanting a country house and beautiful country gardens as the setting for our big day. We viewed so many wedding venues I can’t even begin to tell you. When we saw Rathsallagh, in particular the beautiful wedding room my heart said yes – all that was left to do was to finalize the finer details & confirm the date.
After doing that we set the date and from that day to the day of our wedding the Rathsallagh wedding coordinators were in touch with me all the time. They were always on hand for my thousands of questions and were so helpful and friendly.
Girls this is a beautiful vintage country themed wedding venue – it is so pretty & quaint – if you are still on the hunt for your wedding venue you should take the time to visit Rathsallagh.
There is no better way of putting it but Rathsallagh House is most definitely the DREAM wedding venue. Check it out at www.RathsallaghHouse.com

Happy wedding planning to all of the beautiful Brides to be out there – I wish I could do it all again!

Love
Arlene x
